Arrangements in Blue: Notes on Loving and Living Alone by Amy Key

emotional reflective sad medium-paced

4.75

oh man. amy’s reflections on a life without experiencing romantic love while desperately wanting it and aging without it really resonated. i appreciated her immense vulnerability in discussing the messy, complicated way it affects all aspects of her life, even when she was aware how deeply flawed some of her thinking was. she put to words some things i’ve had a hard time expressing to others. you could tell she’s a poet with how beautiful the prose was. i also adored the concept of having an album accompany her through her life and using it as a tool for reflection. i’m not familiar with the album but it’ll be a treat to listen to now <3
