oh my godddddd this book! i loved the cute summer vibe of the first half-ish and the characters ugh so fun! then i found it became a bit slow in the middle BUT THEN OMGGGG and the the climax ahhhhhhhh i felt the writing improved too and i loved the descriptions of the setting, hot summer weather...
Spoileras the story progressed it became less about Rinn and he and the other dolphin became a symbol for the growing aggressive atmosphere.

a line that really struck me was after Rory got hurt they saw his glasses, "twisted and broken" and the repetition of the "if..." parts on p261 and 263 ahhh soooo effective.

At the brawl on the beach i loved the simultaneous conflict in the sea and on the sand, it really added to the tension and my tears. then i was unsure what happened but when i realised omg i was sobbbbbinggggg

alsooo casually mentioned Rinn washing up the day after Dog's funeral oh the symbolism :(( as we know nothing good ever comes out of holding an "ancient grudge"

i was confused at the very end, first i thought do they go to boarding school? but Emer's mam helped her leave, i love how supportive she was all the time. and emer was pregnant?? idk seemed kinda random

ok review over lol ive never written that much
