Tempting the Player by Jennifer L. Armentrout

4.0

"Tempting the Player" is the second book in the "Gamble Brothers" series by J. Lynn (aka Jennifer L. Armentrout) and what a sequel it was! This book came close to being a home run and I'm beginning to think that the author has a knack for frustrating both the characters and the readers so that when everything finally comes together...BAM! Hahaha. ^.^

Chad Gamble is the middle Gamble brother and is a popular professional baseball player for the Nationals. He's also known as a player off the baseball field and his team's management has had enough of his bed- and club-hopping ways...but he doesn't know exactly what they have up their sleeve (the "evil" publicist Alana Gore) when he meets Bridget Rodgers at a club. Readers will remember Bridget from the first book, "Tempting the Best Man", as Madison Daniels' assistant and friend. Things get heated between the two pretty quickly but don't end exactly as planned. When they meet again, the could never have predicted how fate and a little help from the nosy publicist will have their lives in a tizzy.

I loved the relationship between Chad and Bridget. Yes, there were moments of frustration yet again and I was a tad iffy with the ending BUT this was still a great read and there's simply no turning away from the Gamble brothers or the women they fall in love with. ^.^

"Tempting the Player" gets four out of five stars...and I shall try to be patient while I wait for the third book, "Tempting the Bodyguard" (Chandler Gamble and Alana Gore's story), to be released next year. ^.^
