madeline miller has such an impressive and beautiful way of retelling greek myths. i absolutely ADORED this book and i think the slow pace was quite fitting in this case. whilst reading this book, relating to circe felt surprisingly easy at certain times: the author manages to capture her personality and story in such a mundane, and yet very powerful way, without shying away from real and honest descriptivism. the story of circe’s life, from birth to her island, made me feel sad, happy, mad and so many other things at once. i applaud madeline miller for her skills and ability.
