Marvel Knights Black Widow by Grayson & Rucka: The Complete Collection by

4.0

Book four for the year complete! This book was a surprise from my fiancé because of my obsession with Yelena Belova, who is heavily featured in this series. I’m still working on my other books in my stack, but decided to take a break to see Yelena in action in the comics. I wasn’t impressed with the first storyline featured in the series, but the second storyline with Yelena and Black Widow switching bodies/faces was very twisted yet very well-done. Really focused in on psychological warfare and it’s impact on a person. The third storyline was interesting. I wasn’t expecting a sex club to be featured, but it definitely shows how dark and sadistic the Red Room is to get agents to do what they need to do as a spy. Overall, I think the character of Yelena is well represented and well-written. I’m hoping with her new role in the MCU more comics will feature her as a key player.
