What a mindfuck.
Based on the description and recommendations, I thought I’d like this book. Then I started it and didn’t think I’d enjoy it. The journal format is fun, but I worried it would feel disjointed. It all comes together though. It felt whimsical and light and fun in the beginning, and then it was like a ball of yarn unraveling to reveal something sinister. I gasped at certain points and never knew what was coming.
