Definitely not The Cruel Prince. The Stolen Heir has some twists and some chacteristics of The Cruel Prince/A Folk of the Air series and the magic of the books. I can't wait for The Prisoner's Throne release.
Oak has a little bit of his 3 sisters present within him and a little bit of Cardan and you see each piece throughout The Stolen Heir. Wren has to pick herself up from all the torture and pain from her past, but she's still that little girl on the inside who played with Oak and the one who misses/yearns for her human family, yearns for love. She is still cunning like the fae and she is strong. She just has to hone into all her fae traits and be her own person/the person she wants to be. But who is that? Who will that be?
Holly Black does faeries so well and I hope she continues with more stories of the fae/fey and with giving us the little connections through all her faery books. If you like Holly Black and faeries this book is a great YA read.
