I think I liked book two even more than book one.
Again, I was reminded of how much I adore Kai Meyer's world-building. Since we got to explore the world a bit here and were not confined to one city, we discovered these cool, vast, mysterious settings with their ancient histories and secrets. I was pleasantly surprised by the scope of things. Quite literally, in some cases. I have a soft spot for small characters in huge, open spaces or next to huge beings. I'm very much in love with the world in this series. Even though it's a dark and scary one.
I was also very intrigued by the plot. I might have guessed all plot twist early on (well except for one that came out of nowhere) but I couldn’t put the book down because I wanted to know what will happen next. And I have no idea where the story will go from here.
