This was the perfect read to kickstart my holiday in Greece! I always find thrillers are a quick and easy read and this was no exception.

Wade Darling stands accused of murdering his family. His lawyer, Neve Harper, knows that the odds are stacked against him. Before long, someone threatens to bring Neve’s dark secrets to the surface unless she throws Wades case.

I like the way Jordan explores moral dilemmas. They are at the forefront of his thrillers. It raises the stakes and the reader feels more invested in the plot itself as a consequence. It’s compelling in a way other thrillers usually aren’t and I always look forward to reading his books.

As someone who isn’t well versed in the legal system, I found this novel very accessible. Jordan doesn’t use excessive legal jargon or obscure references. While I wasn’t initially sold on the premise, I was hooked from the start. It was intriguing the see Neve’s internal monologue play out.

I am interested to read Jordan’s latest novel, Redemption, as it tackles a similarly complicated moral dilemma.
