Beautiful Dreamer by Melissa Brayden

3.0

I'm really conflicted about this one.
I love Brayden's storytelling as well as her characters, even when they break my heart (looking at you, Courtney!).
For some reason though, Beautiful Dreamer and its protagonists did not manage to draw me in as much as their predecessors had.

The dramatic events that set the stage for the first half of the book felt like they were slowing the narrative, and blurring the two leads out of focus somehow. By comparison, when the focus shifted to their relationship in the second half, some developments even felt rushed.
SpoilerHere's me, wearing your scarf, suddenly ready to forgive and forget.

It really sucks that I was not able to enjoy this one as much as I hoped, but I'm sure that's on me.
This is a Melissa Brayden book, and you can be sure it's a good romance even if it doesn't make your favourites shelf.
