Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

I have several things to say. I wasn’t sure how much better it could get after Six of Crows, but believe me when I say that Crooked Kingdom DELIVERED.

1. THE CHARACTERS. I love them all, and the development is incredibly realistic. It’s slow and painful, but that’s the way life is, and I laughed and cried for all of them.

2. THE RELATIONSHIPS! I’m usually not invested in the romance subplots in the books I read, but this was an outlier. Kaz & Inej had a devastating relationship. I was simultaneously rooting for them and not wanting them to end up together.

3. The plot, finally, was immaculate. Bardugo was constantly delivering action and upping the ante in a way that kept me enthralled until the very end!

So uhm. 10/10 would recommend. I got goosebumps. Multiple times.
