”Let me love you, Avery.”

Avery Adams moved to Queen’s Cove five years ago and has been working at The Arbutus since. Her dream is to own the restaurant. However, when the plan to buy it comes earlier than expected, she doesn’t have enough money to buy and the bank doesn’t want to give that much as a loan without a co-signer. In comes Emmett Rhodes - the town’s bachelor - with a plan to help both of them.

Emmett Rhodes is the bachelor of Queen’s Cove. At the moment he owns and runs a construction company with his brother. His best friend, his wife, and their daughter has just moved out of town because of the town’s problem with having blackouts. With the current mayor not wanting to fix it, Emmett decides to run for mayor. The residents agree with Emmett about the problem, but they don’t trust the town’s bachelor with their money and therefore Emmett needs a fake relationship and who better than the only woman who has ever told him NO?

It’s a cute, and nice book. It’s not as much of a rom-com as I expected it to be, which was a bit of a disappointment. However, I liked the characters, and the storyline in and of it self. However, what I missed about the book was about how much Will and Nat actually effected Emmett’s look on himself, and himself in relationships. It was kind of glossed over, but it was what they said that created the insecurity in Emmett.
