Mad About Ewe by Susannah Nix

4.0

I really liked this book. I had read a book previously by Susanna Nix and enjoyed this one better. It’s refreshing to read a story about characters slightly later in life (MCs are in their late 40s). It’s not only a second chance for love after divorce (or two), it’s a second chance for the MCs, after the the male MC (Mike) turns down the female MC (Dawn) when they were teenagers.

Dawn was the nerdy kid in high school who has grown up to become the successful owner of a yarn shop called Mad About Ewe.
Mike was the jock in high school that we see has grown up to admit he was a douchebag to Dawn when he was in high school. He let others’ opinions affect the way he reacted to her. I love how sweet they are with each other and that she’s still willing to give him a shot and that he’s patient with her and he’s willing to fight for her.

It was great to visit and get glimpses of characters from the Knitting in the City series. I love these little connections that are continuously added as the Universe of Penny Reid is expanded.

The only issue I had with it was I felt like Mike’s mother was only included in the book as a way for our characters to meet up again and as soon as there was a connection between the MCs, she was a second thought.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
