Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

4.0

The subject matter of this book made tough to pick up sometimes, but every time I did, I couldn’t put it down. Kambili was an excellent character, someone I could root for. I loved Amaka and Aunty Ifeoma too. I enjoyed seeing the modern, family side of Nigerian culture. I thought the juxtaposition of Papa was real, but so hard to tease apart, beautifully drawn. The writing was excellent.
