Out of the 4 secret novels, this is my second favorite (right behind Tress). I have not read Stormlight Archive yet- only the original Mistborn trilogy. Not having the full context for the dawnshard/his oaths did not make me feel like I was failing to understand the character. In fact, I felt like I identified a fair bit with Nomad as I too feel like I am running on fumes and have lost my guiding principle. That didn’t stop Nomad from toppling a tyrant, so maybe my bumbling attempts are still having a positive impact…
