The House of Wael by Chris Avellone

5.0

Don't expect something conventional and you should be fine. Or do expect something conventional and revel in confusion. I definitely *loved* this short novel, especially in the context of the game series worldbuilding and lore. It is wonderfully confusing, but, like the scroll described in the story, it is telling much with what it describes, what it does not describe and how it describethese things. And how it does not describe the things it doesn't describe.
Especially in the context of what the god "Wael" represents in the game series lore, it is perfectly fitting.
