Shadow, by Janie Crouch

5.0

I absolutely loved this story!! It was a fantastic read! I was pulled in from beginning to end. Heath, aka Shadow, has hit a dead end on figuring out what the gibberish in his head is all about. He has been hanging out at Linear Tactical and so ends up going undercover for the FBI to stop the sale of a microchip on an university campus. The same campus that his best friend Gavin's little sister goes to. I loved getting to know Lyn. She is a fantastic character. She has been dealing with her brothers and father for years with their alpha attitudes trying to micromanage her and so she has some practice of getting around them. I loved the way that Heath and Lyn got to know each other. They are quite a few twists in this story and they have to deal with the fact that Heath was undercover and didn't realize who she was, so he never told her. This story has plenty of action and intrigue to hold your attention the entire time. I loved how all the little pieces came together in the end and made everything make sense. This story is written really, really well and I would love to read more within this world!! I loved getting to catch up with some of the characters from previous books. It is an added enjoyment if you have read them. This is the 6th book in the series but can be read as a standalone. There is a bit of an over arcing story line (cover agency from years ago) that is dealt with in multiple books, but anything you need to know to enjoy the current story is there for you, maybe not in the same detail, but you won't really be lost. I would recommend reading them though as they do connect and are all fantastic reads!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
