I liked this one better than 13 Candles, but it still fell a bit flat for me. The author’s writing has improved since her debut novel but it still feels a bit disjointed. There are plot points that get thrown in but never get any real explanation or closure. They seem like a big deal in the moment they are brought up, but then are never brought up again. For example, at one point the FMC’s ex is brought up. I thought later we would get his backstory and some insight into why the FMC was the way she was in relationships But then he just was never really mentioned again. The writing just feels a bit disjointed to me. But I love small town romances and I do see improvements between this book and her debut novel, so I’m sure I’ll continue to read the series
