Another strong instalment in this series! Two cougars, a mother and her cub, have been spotted in the area, and the Phantom's son New Moon keeps challenging him, wanting his own herd. I like the way the cougar storyline is resolved, and the end of this book sees the introduction of a little kitten named Cougar from a litter that the Elys' calico cat has - sooo cute! My sister and I fondly recall that.
On the human side of the story, Jen's parents are fighting and she isn't happy with Sam's relationship with Rachel; meanwhile, Brynna and Wyatt get engaged. In a children's book like this, I think it's great that the author includes young characters dealing with changes in their households.
