Peter Pan: Peter and Wendy and Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens by J.M. Barrie

5.0

I have loved Peter Pan ever since I watched the Disney film as a child. Then came the 2003 live-action movie, and after that, I was completely hooked (pun totally intended). I'd read the novel Peter and Wendy twice before starting my Children's Literature class, which listed this as one of the books I could write my term paper on. As I mentioned in one of my reading updates, you would not believe how different a 16-year-old's mindset is compared to a 21-year-old's, especially when that 21-year-old has spent the last year learning and practicing how to close read. This made the reading experience truly magical, especially because I hadn't read it in so long. My edition also includes Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, a little novella that was fascinating and added to the lore surrounding Peter.

07/03/2019: I've now read Peter and Wendy four times and still find things I previously never noticed.
