This book was emotionally devastating, and I could not help but feel compassion for Chrissie and the abuse and neglect she was subjected to. By the end of the book, my heart ached for the adult Chrissie as she struggled to be a good mother to Molly.
I will say that I wish the reactions of the community would have been explored more.In particular, I wanted to know more about how Ruthie's mammy felt towards her adopted daughter's killer. Also, I was hoping Ruthie's mammy would recognize Chrissie from the adoption agency
The topic of this book was very heavy, so now I'm off to read something light-hearted.
