First off, the pictures were cute, but the style was a bit... off? I don't know. Something about the details seemed wrong, like it was meant for older eyes (not sexually, etc., just... I don't know. Like adult news magazine picture style, but aimed at kids). Maybe I'm getting too used to a certain kind of children's illustration styles (I have been reading a lot of titles from barefoot books, lately).
The text was lacking, mostly repeating "please" and "puppy" in various forms. Joe wasn't even very interested in it.
