The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller

4.0

The story itself is timeless. There's a reason it finds its way to the spotlight after years of being published and it's truly a beautiful retelling.

The writing style is unique, and it took me a while to adjust to it. When I first started reading, it felt so choppy and like monotone almost? The pacing was also unique, we spend a long time on some things that seem not super important and then glance over other things that a traditional fantasy would prolong. But those things are definitely part of the art, and thrown together they work really well.
