The Iron Woman, by Ted Hughes

2.5

As a kids book, it’s nicely weird, but it doesn’t come close to The Iron Man in terms of its mysterious nature.

It all suffers from some heavy misogyny, and an unclear moral:
Spoiler environmental change is enacted in the end only by some magical substance that allows everything to go on as before without the problem of polluting waste. Though perhaps this is the most realistic part of the book after all.
