Bound to Danger by Katie Reus

4.0

Cade O'Reilly is a former Marine who now works for a secret NSA agency doing black ops. When the assignment to protect Maria Cervantes comes to his attention, he jumps at it. 8 years ago he had a budding relationship with Maria, the sister of his best friend. When his friend died in Afghanistan, he cut off the relationship. But never stopped thinking about Maria.

Maria needs protection because she's the sole survivor of a terrorist attack. The terrorists thinks she knows something about their plans, and she's in mortal danger.

Maria does know about their plans, but she can't remember the events surrounding the explosion that killed her mother and hundreds of others. Will her memory come back in time to prevent more terrorist attacks, and save her own life?

And what about Cade and Maria? They sizzle together, and have never stopped loving each other. But Cade had a reason for cutting off their relationship. The guilt is eating away at him. If he confesses, will he lose Maria?

BOUND TO DANGER is fast-paced and suspenseful. I did have to knock my rating down a half-star for Katie Reus's handling of the story line of one of the antagonists. It is a bit anticlimactic. And one video is improbable. But those are minor issues. BTD is a page-turner.

Cade is a hot hero. He is protective of Maria and a highly skilled operative. He is determined to make a go of his second chance with Maria.

Maria is mostly a smart, capable, admirable heroine. She does have one TSTL moment, though. That's another reason for the 4* rating.

In spite of a few minor drawbacks, I definitely recommend BOUND TO DANGER. And don't miss the first book in the series, [b:Targeted|17707657|Targeted (Deadly Ops, #1)|Katie Reus|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1370358919s/17707657.jpg|24757186]

Katieā€”I can't wait for Levi's story!
