The Once and Future King by T.H. White

4.0

A solid read, White crafts a beautifully modern rendition of Arthurian legend for the modern reader. His anti-war message is strong and apparent, but that does not detract from the emotional weight and sentimentality of the story.

Sure to make one long for an age long past, where life and the world itself seemed more magical and idyllic and worth fighting for.

Perhaps I shall read The Book of Merlyn at a later date, but for now the ending is perfect as is.

9/10.
