An ending that I was NOT expecting 😱

I enjoy reading thrillers and mystery stories, but few of them surprise me. The Naturals hit me hard.

A story for young adults with first love, first losses, first experiences, first… everything. And as the term “first” suggests, the plot and the characters might be so-so. However, that’s not the case here. Almost. The plot is so engaging that I couldn’t put the book down, even during driving classes (it was theory, not actual driving, lol).

I found some characters quite plain. Maybe it’s due to their lesser importance, or perhaps they will develop further; I don’t know. I pitied the main character, Cassie, but as the story progressed, I found her annoying in her attempts to build relationships with other students in the FBI academy for Naturals. Maybe I’m just too grown-up for teen love triangles 🫠

I enjoyed the story a lot and was sad not to have the next books in the series available on Kindle Unlimited. Maybe some other time I will read them!
