i refuse to rate this. this is easily the most fucked up book i have ever had the displeasure of reading (which was kind of the point). i can’t say that i hated reading the whole book because i knew exactly what i was signing up for, but that doesn’t mean that i wasn’t EXTREMELY conflicted while reading it. there were times where i felt deep shame for even having any curiosity about this book in the first place, despite the readers knowing damn well that this lady is a sociopath. despite knowing how despicable that woman is, that doesn’t mean that i found any pleasure in reading about her twisted desires.
in short, i wanted an unsettling book to read since it’s basically halloween in my eyes and boy oh boy did i find one. i was uncomfortable the entire time and i had a permanent scowl plastered on my face so now i’m definitely developing wrinkles.
i’m not going to advise anyone to not read this book (unless it’s triggering for you of course), but please read it at your own risk. it’s HELLA graphic and no amount of mental preparation will it any less disgusting.
