Ahhhh. A contemporary romance.
This is it. This is the genre. Exactly what you're looking for.
Two messy, beautiful people coming together in a messy, beautiful way. There's no spoilers to this book, no twist. But it's a lovely read about love and friendship and family. It makes you ponder your own relationships. Would I go for Gus? I'm not sure, he's the kind of guy I've always been attracted to, the kind of guy who has hurt me many times, the kind of guy I no longer date. Maybe that's why I like reading about him. Relating to January's fears and confusion. But it doesn't end the way my stories with my Gus' have ended. He deserves a chance and Emily Henry gives him one here, let's us in to see that he isn't quite 'that guy', there's more to him than that.  I don't know if this makes any sense but if you get it, you get it.

Just read the book.

ETA: after reading through other reviews I must say - if you don't relate to their chemistry you have never fallen for someone this hard. I personally know what it's like to be drawn to someone and feel a weird connection to them. I don't think their relationship was trivial at all, I do believe readers have the responsibility of accepting the characters situations as a part of their story and nkt their whole story. I like to think these characters enjoy a life of new experiences and hobbies together in the future :)
