Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin

5.0

This. book. Was . perfect!
I'm beginning to question do I even read horror since it's taken me so long to pick this up!
Paranoia, thriller, supernatural, are they Satanists?
A great classic horror that's a quick read. I found myself unable to put it down.
The film (that has a questionable director- unfortunately) is pretty much EXACTLY as the book is written but don't let that put you off reading this book.
It's been a few years since I watched the film but I think everyone knows the premise of Rosemary's Baby, and I still devoured the book.
My copy had a great intro by Chuck Palahniuk and I think he was right; nothing has matched this book for its themes of urban horror. Everything about the book seems normal except for a satanic cult members that seem to slot themselves into this pregnant woman's life.
I recommend this book to every horror reader. I can guarantee youll wonder why you haven't read it sooner.
