I've heard a ton about this series in the past couple of years, and I see why. The pacing was incredible, the world building was immersive and given to you all at once so the reader has to wade through it and work a little to understand it (in a good way), and the characters and relationships were compelling and dynamic.

However, even the review on the cover makes it sounds like there will be a lesbian relationship. While there were queer characters whose queerness is just part of who they are (which I always appreciate) killing the main character and one half of the queer relationship that was built up the entire book was disappointing. I want to trust this author and I really loved this book, but I'm hesitant to read the rest of the series because of it.
