The Bachelorette by Cara Kent, Cara Kent

4.0

If I was going to say anything negative about Cara Kent's book, "The Bachelorette," it would be that it was too short. It was a great wee book to read in an afternoon. It was an interesting story about the grisly murder of one of the female residents. It was a "whodunit" kind of story with peoples' accusations going in a few different directions.

The story was paced perfectly for its length. It is really hard to bring a short story to life but Kent did a great job of it. The character development was excellent for such a short story. You had the keen detective from the big city there in a small-town setting. Kent gives you just enough about each suspect so that you can form your own opinion. This is the only bit that was difficult for me because there wasn't enough "evidence" to form a solid opinion on any one person, but Kent did a great job tying it all up and wrapping it up in a bow. I even loved the use of odd homesteads of a couple of the suspects. It made the story more interesting. I highly recommend reading it.
