Their Lips Talk of Mischief by Alan Warner

5.0

I loved this book. It is a much quicker read than The Deadman's Pedal (which I also very much enjoyed) yet retains the atmospheric lyrical quality that his writing has. I think it is one of his best, and when he is at his best, reading his prose is pretty much like getting a lesson in how to write. This is despite the fact that the central premise of the book (a love triangle) is hardly an original one. This is stylish and engrossing.
