This was a beautiful and vulnerable collection of stories, thoughts, and emotions. As a Canadian, we don't learn much about the world outside of the euro/white-centric perspectives. I cried on a several occasions and had to take some time between reading, but in some ways, that's what I look for in a book: an experience, a feeling, something to tie us together in the human condition.
