I couldn't predict the turns of this story, which is saying something as it had this fated quality to the narration. I think I saw this on a list of comedic books, and it is definitely....not that. I can only imagine whoever put it on that list went only by the description and title, because it does have a heaviness to it that can only come from engaging with it over more than a few chapters.
I listened to the audiobook and found the tone wonderful. I hope to listen to more books by this narrator. Clear, soft, and easy to listen to but with so much emotion and inflection in the voice, it really felt like the narration made it come alive.
All the characters felt like real people, even the ones we only get a little bit of, and her sister seemed to become more real as we learned more about their life.
