this book had...uh....way too unnecessary graphic sexual details? and uh, elio's 'love' was sorta bordering on obsession...like boi u gotta learn how to let go. idk, I didn't really feel that much emotional connection? just sexual connection. to me, oliver seemed sorta like somebody elio wanted to just touch and feel. not much heart to heart connection.  also elio is the most unrelatable 17 yr old like srsly? idk. a disappointment, but the writing is top notch. the descriptions of Italy is amazing. ps: im traumatized. i was already feeling icky with all those "wanna touch him wanna know how he feels" vibe 24/7 and that apricock shit but omg the peach scene no ew ew ew ew ew ew ew somebody go file a police report about elio and oliver both. and to find out at the end that elio never got over oliver and like?? whats there to NOT get over kid the only thing yall had was sex sessions and icy conversations. kids, you become like elio when you have no actual job to do. gave a 2.75 out of mercy cuz i liked the poetic writing style and all the classical references.
