Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury

5.0

It was a pleasure to burn.

I've heard a lot of things about Fahrenheit 451. I found a copy at a used bookstore, a heavily-annotated one. I did not hesitate to buy it, and it was one of the best decisions I made as an avid reader.

Characters ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great ensemble. Each one of the characters is memorable.

Writing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Some say the writing isn't that good, and I have to disagree. Your opinion is wrong (kidding. to each their own). The writing was actually engaging and smooth. It doesn't have a hint of classic-book-tediousness(and maybe because it was written in the 50's, not in the 19th century). Bradbury's voice stands out.

Flow ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The pacing was really good. The story moved perfectly.

Ending ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic, fantastic ending! Perhaps my favorite part was when Montag followed the railroad tracks and met "people."

Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
An almost perfect book. Definitely my favorite read this year so far. Everyone should read this at least once in their lives. And if you don't like this book, may I ask, what is wrong with you? Kidding. To each their own.
