I can always count on Kasie West to pull through with a cute romance.
Love, Life, and the List is about a girl named Abby whose summer has just started. She has unrequited feelings for her best friend Cooper, and when trying to put her paintings up in an art show, she gets rejected and told that her paintings have no heart. So she decides to make a list of things to do over the summer (along with Cooper) that will help her experience new things, and make her art better. All while she tries to get over Cooper.
It's just so nice! This might end up being my favorite Kasie West book to date, I enjoyed it so much. Not only did I love Abby and her sarcasm but I loved her family and her friendships too. Instead of her parents being randomly absent or missing, Abby's mother and grandfather were a big part of the story. Abby's banter with her grandfather was funny too. Abby also forms a couple of new friendships during the summer and it was really nice to see. I loved Lacey.
(Don't mistake this quote for romance, it was pure girl friendship and I loved it.)

"We’re good for each other, I think. You bring me down to earth and I make you dream big."Really, the most important relationship was with Cooper and I thought it was pretty nice. I did have issues seeing chemistry between them though. While I loved their jokes and seeing them hang out, a lot of situations just felt like a waste of a romantic moment sometimes because they never actually seemed that interested in each other that way. I get Abby liked him like that but it really felt one sided and while I hate to say it, quite deep in the friend-zone. There was even another guy Abby goes out with and they had no chemistry either. I don't know, maybe it was just me. I still enjoyed the ending a lot though!
It's cute, it's funny, and Kasie West is my go-to for cute contemporaries.
