The Angel by Carla Neggers

3.0

This is the companion novel to [b:The Widow|2071486|The Widow|Carla Neggers|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1213389321s/2071486.jpg|2708122]. I enjoyed The Widow a lot and was expecting The Angel to be as good if not better. Well, I was surprised, but not in a good way at all.

The plot was mediocre at best. In the beginning, I thought it was a paranormal type book, faires, angels and devils and whatnot. Well, it wasn't - it was a romantic suspense. The whole fairy tale about the three monks and the fairies looking for the stone angel jumped in and out of the story. In certain points it was all about the stone angel and whatnot, the next second it was as if the stone angel plot wasn't even a part of it.

The romance wasn't all that impressive. I liked Keira, she was the typical 'tough as nails' woman who needs no help from any one - man or woman. Simon was an interesting character, him and Keira worked well together. The romance wasn't that hot.

I suspected who the killer was midway through and well, I was right. No twists that through me off.

I feel that giving this book 3 stars is a mite generous, for me at best it was between a 2.5 and a 3.
