Does God Suffer? by Thomas Weinandy
challenging
informative
slow-paced
4.25
A fantastic exploration of the notion of God as a theological entity, with a particular emphasis on the incarnation as an explanation for the suffering of God, in spite of the transcendental barrier He seems to have to suffering.
Although very slow in some parts, with an extensive focus on the thoughts of other historical scholars as a critical explanation of his own thoughts, this pace was necessary for clarity to be upheld throughout.
A great read, although quite heavy in some places in terms of mental strain through an attempt to understand some quite complex notions.
