The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler

3.0

The good: I LOVE books set in Alaska. I loved the environment and the small town setting in this book. You get a real feel for the townie vs tourist mindset that I grew up with, so I really connected with that. I also really love how Zoey does NOT let men push her around. When you think someone is going to do something offensive, she actually stands up for herself which is REFRESHING IN CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE. There was also a lot of cute animal stuff happening - blind dog, moose falling in love with a pickup truck, etc.

The bad: Graham is toted as a grumpy character who is hard to win over, but he more or less falls head over heels for Zoey in the first 40 pages. There is no slowly falling for her, he immediately starts calling her cute nicknames (Zoey Bear and Zo) even though she seems only mildly interested at first. I wish there was some more leadup to Graham falling for Zoey, but unfortunately he blinks and he more or less wants her to marry him.

Overall, this book also has the predictable ending one would expect. I think if you are looking for a relatively predictable romance book set in Alaska, this is it. It was light-hearted and sweet, I just wish it hadn't gone straight from strangers to soul mates haha
