The Sabbath by Abraham Joshua Heschel

3.0

Quite an interesting meditation on the meaning of a day of rest. What I found most compelling throughout the slim volume is the differentiation between time and space. Beginning from Genesis where Heschel discusses how the world was created in days rather than the place where it happened through his reflection on how humans transcend space and time transcends humans. It gives one a new way to understand and and find value in Shabbat.
