I didnt expect to like the book as much as I did. Very relatable. There's just something about being a South Asian daughter that seems to more or less be universally true, all that we're expected to do and to embody and the expectations of us. The fact that we're never enough. Antara's relationship with her mother is very complicated, and I related with her complicated feelings towards her mother and having to take care of her despite their rocky relationship all their lives.
