The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

2.0

This is a big meh for me. I felt that the tension wasn't really building well, the reveals all happened within the final few pages, and the whole thing felt rushed and contrived. Through 80% of the book I was just thinking "so what, she's dealing with bratty kids". Also the history of the house seemed to be unnecessary details because the 'haunting' aspect of everything didn't really factor in as largely as it could have. Overall, an okay read but forgettable and bland in the end.
