I was recommended to read this as I wanted something superhero-ish to read that wasn't dark and miserable. And boy, was this the perfect choice.
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Vol. 1 is an utter joy. The character is fabulous fun. Her adventures are a joy. The way she gets caught up in a fight and then talks to the villains. It manages to be both more fun than most comics I've read and smarter.
Eric Henderson's drawing compliment Ryan North's writing. Plus this collection features a fantastic retro strip illustrated in the style of Steve Ditko. It's both a fun adventure in itself and a great tribute to an older era of comics.
I'll be buying more of these when I have a little cash, because they're so much fun.
