One Last Thing Before I Go by Jonathan Tropper

4.0

I have a profound appreciation for gallows humor. I'd better; I'm a social worker, wizard in the use of if-I-don't-laugh-I'll-cry-or-worse-maybe-scream moments. As such, I love how Tropper, in addition to his wickedly adept mastery of the right word at the right time, is able to make the portrayal of poignant and even tragic life experiences so blasted funny. And develop characters you get angry at but can't bring yourself to hate. And tell stories about the value of relationships and all life experiences regardless of our ability to rightly appraise their helpfulness in the moment. This story is a gem.
