beautifully written novel and while i understand why it is a classic- Esther is not a good person and we are supposed to feel sorry for her because she’s mentally ill? weird. There were certain moments where I could definitely emphasize with Esther especially knowing the foreshadowing death of the author, but most times she was barely sufferable.
