The premise of the book is intriguing; a group of teenagers trying to survive in SoCal where water is basically gone. However, I feel like it didn’t live up to its potential, the characters keep making the stupidest decisions for the sake of drama and it got old and annoying. It is very clear that the book is written for the purpose of getting a movie deal (which they got and deserved since I’ve been waiting forever for Unwind movie/TV series for ages) but it could have done a lot better. I am looking forward to seeing the movie though.
