Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson
2.0
i spent the majority of my time reading this book wondering if i was even enjoying it. usually, that means i'm not.
this story was difficult for me because my suspension of disbelief only goes so far, and i feel like there were a lot of questions that went unanswered for most of the story. additionally, the final act of the book is way too short, while the second act seems to drag on forever. there was even a point at which i was so annoyed with the pacing that i started skimming and scanning just to see if things were going anywhere! then when the big twist (which is predictable pretty early) happens, it's over in about 15 pages. extremely underwhelming overall, i'm actually going to reduce this from a 3-star to two because i'm getting saltier as i write this. what a drag this book was.
