The Words We Keep by Erin Stewart
5.0
I am always weary of picking up an author I have neither heard of nor read a book of. But man am I glad I picked this one up.
We follow Lily who on the surface is just your normal teenager going for gold in every aspect. She then meets Micah who comes and changes everything.
I think this summarise this story.
Having a background of mental illness in the family always draw me towards stories like these. I liked the characters and the realness. I cannot fault how it was told or how it ended, I just wish there was a little bit more of the recovery.
I can definitely recommend this.
Trigger warnings: Self harm, mental illness.
